Public warned of road closure and encouraged to purchase pre-paid tickets

AAD2012, 22 – 23 September 2012, AFB Waterkloof

South Africa, 21st September 2012-
Africa’s largest air show and defence exhibition is taking place this weekend at the Air Force Base Waterkloof, as part of the biennial Africa Aerospace and Defence Exhibition.
“It is important that the public knows that Solomon Mahlangu road, previously known as Hans Strijdom road, will be closed on Saturday and Sunday from 04h00 – 19h00 from Kruger road to the R21. Public must use Van Ryneveld Road to access the base through Gates 5, 5A, 6, 7, 8 and Contractors Gate,” says Vhongani Shumba, Marketing and Public Relations Manager for AAD2012.

The organisers are working closely with Tshwane City Metro Police, Emergency Services, the SAPS, fire and rescue services and Disaster Management to manage the traffic going to and leaving from the air show.

The public are also encouraged to purchase pre-paid tickets from Computicket in order to avoid frustration and alleviate congestion at the gate. “We are very close to reaching our maximum capacity for Saturday and so if you haven’t got pre-paid tickets, we cannot guarantee admission,” says Shumba.

Updates will be posted on our Facebook and Twitter pages to help inform the public over the weekend.
